ELECTRONIC DETOX

An electronic detox may seem extreme but it turned out to be extremely rejuvenating. While on a vacation in Bournemouth I decided to minimize my use of electric gadgets and only used my iPhone for checking group messages about dinner and meet-up with the rest of the group. Instead, I became more present and enjoyed walking barefoot on the sand.


Trying to be in control of the phone rather than having the phone control your life is not an easy feat but having an electronic detox makes you realise how important it is to be more in control.


Going forward I reduced the number of notifications I had on the phone, set the phone in silent mode, later focused mode while working or having meetings, stopped checking email all the time and instead deal with priority email at certain times and also set a time limit on social media apps.
